Every now and then we all get the itch to hop in our cars or catch that hour flight to the city of lights.

With the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel offering a sanctuary teeming with luscious lads and ladies every Sunday, Vegas and all its bountiful sin has become even more tempting. But if you can't make the trip to Vegas for Hard Rock's Rehab Sunday, there's no need to panic.

Intervention is currently holding court every Sunday in the Gaslamp and proposes a place of refuge for San Diegans to sweat it out poolside at the Moonstone Lounge within the local Hard Rock, and you don't have to make that sticky ride across the desert just to get there.

Moonstone Lounge, which towers above 6th Street in the middle of the concrete jungle that is downtown San Diego, is probably the last place one would expect to find such sights. But swimsuits are optional, as are most clothing items, and one must be prepared for a heavy does of visual stimulation upon entering this unlikely oasis.

The frosty and frilly drinks paired with the muscles and miniskirts to match make Moonstone the number one downtown destination for a daytime fade-on. The Moonstone Lounge provides poolside bottle service to anyone that might need to take a time out and do a little celebrity spying (ahem Dave Navarro).

Moonstone has also made it easy for the faint of heart by lining the lounge with multiple cabanas for those that need to seek sanctuary from San Diego's solar rays. And for the sports nuts or those of us who have re-ignited our romance with running until we puke for the summer sacrifice, the Moonstone Lounge has set up a playground where the athletic or overly-competitive types can get together for a tipsy game of tetherball to show off those hard-earned bikini bodies. If games aren't your thing, just remember that the music is always going and the champagne is always flowing, often from the hands of the scantily-clad Moonstone ladies dancing on the rooftops.

So forget that perilous drive (or flight) to Vegas and head right down the street for a little local rehabilitation San Diego style at Intervention every Sunday from noon until sunset.

Insider Tip: Get there early, seriously. Nobody likes to wait in a ridiculous line with that Sunday hangover.
