If you're looking for a pack of sports nuts, fans or groupies huddled around the bar, worshiping the almighty television while hooting and hollering because of that last successful play (or bad call) the San Diego Sports Club is probably the last place you'll find it. Not to say that crazy sports people aren't welcome, but the type of "fan" that composes this "club" falls outside that athletic arena.
Though the San Diego Sports Club's claim to fame might be the five dollar Long Island, this happenin' little venue is also home to a ridiculous happy hour that runs from noon to six in the evening. With a lengthy list of beverages to choose from, you might want to think about preparing a cab for your ride home. Yet, it's hard to even consider leaving when this "sports" club really starts rocking. This bar has been known to host some of the best local music around town and if you're a musician looking for a stage, the San Diego Sports Club has a generous space for all displays of talent. From the electric disc jockeys to the acoustic guitar wailers, all shapes, sizes and sounds are usually welcome.
Some of us may not be as talented as those that take the stage, but not to worry. Once a month the San Diego Sports Club hosts Guitar Hero for those talented button-pushers blessed with amazing eye-hand coordination skills. Then again, there's always pool in the back for the hustlers and plenty of beer on tap for the drinkers. And for the sports nuts, they still got those TVs hanging over the bar.
