Side Bar Two Year Anniversary Party

Any old school San Diego partiers remember that Side Bar was the O.G. nightclub when it first opened doors nearly seven years ago.

From the legendary Ruby Thursday parties that packed the petite club, to huge lines that wrapped around the block in anticipation of top DJs every Saturday night, Side Bar was first to bring luxury nightlife and VIP entertainment to downtown San Diego. And that is why it will forever be the Original Gangster of San Diego nightlife.

A true O.G. of any trade will agree that change is healthy and you must evolve to keep up with the times and stay ahead of the trends. 

In May of 2009 Side Bar unveiled the sleek results of a $1 million remodel. With the vision to expand and revamp San Diego’s original New York style hangout, the RMD Group was then formed with veteran entertainment entrepreneurs Mike Georgopoulous and Rodrigo Iglesias. Co-owner David Laurent and the RMD Group pioneered the modern transformation of Side Bar, under the direction of famed local interior designer Davis Krumins. 

After much anticipation, the new Side Bar opened with a wild launch party on May 16, 2009. And of course, the DiscoverSD crew was there in full force. Party Time: Believe it or not, it’s already time to celebrate Side Bar’s Two Year Anniversary Party on Friday, May 13, 2011. Oh my how the time flies when you're fist pumping and bottle popping! What’s New: San Diego pool party season is officially back in full swing, and that means that once the sun starts to drop, locals head to Side Bar for the Five Ten Sunday Intermission Party, featuring champagne specials, hard-hitting DJ beats, a swimwear dress code, and sometimes even a Jacuzzi. I mean, when else can you rock a bikini in the club!?
