Signs of Quality: A Monthly Zodiac Cocktail Event

Since its grand opening back in March of 2010, Quality Social has made us reveling locals realize that it’s not just infamous pickle back shots that keep us coming back for more – it’s the playful juxtaposition of all that we love about neighborhood dives, presented in a new quality light with no detail spared.

From dive bar bottle service to Game On Tuesdays, Quality Social invites you to embrace the deliberate contradictions and create your own experience. On Wednesday, June 22, Arts ‘n Drafts will take over this neighborhood bar to host a one-of-a-kind shindig.

“You don’t have to be a hard body to go to the gym, and you don’t have to be an artist to enjoy Arts ‘n Drafts, whether you are a space challenged artist that needs a place to stretch your canvas or a lover of all things eclectic and imaginative, Arts ‘n Drafts will have something to inspire you,” says Stepheni Norton, Purveyor of Inspirations ‘n Libations.  

At the most basic level, Arts ‘n Drafts is a communal studio, libation lounge and event space with a bar and cafe for both artists and creative non-artists. From 6m to 9pm, Signs of Quality will present local San Diego party-goers with creative activities including an opportunity to paint a communal canvas, construct a zodiac mobile, design graffiti tiles and much more. Guests will also enjoy zodiac inspired cocktail specials, frothy craft brew specials, giveaways for those born in the year of Cancer and a variety of other Zodiac surprises.

After all that art viewing and mingling, I’m going to go out on a limb and say you’re gonna need some nosh to go with your booze so make sure to check out the Late Night Happy Hour Snacks. For only $5 or less, Quality Social is serving up a hearty selection of your favorite treats including the Deviled Farm Egg with smoked paprika; Housemade Pretzels with cheese sauce & beer mustard; Hand Cut Fries with aioli; Bacon Wrapped Dates with blue cheese & walnuts; Mac ‘n’ Cheese made with stilton blue, cheddar, gruyere and buttered breadcrumbs; Duck Wings with harissa & cucumber-mint raita or the Chopped Salad with cucumber, tomato, farm egg, scallions, beans, avocado, bacon, goat cheese and sherry vinaigrette.

The evening’s activities are $10 to participate and for $20, patrons will get an activity plus be entered to win a Quality Social happy hour. Arts ‘n Drafts will dedicate a percentage of sales to charities that support organizations focused on Alzheimer’s, Leukemia, Cystic Fibrosis, the military, and at risk children.
