Thin, the recent
addition to the popular bar Onyx, retains the style and class of its mother bar.
But Thin also delivers an experimental, cutting-edge club vibe, making what is
now Onyx and Thin even more appealing to young, hip, thrill-seeking San
Diegans.
The dance
music at Thin varies from night to night, but it’s generally reminiscent of the
kind of tripped-out jazz/techno that makes it easy to dance the night away.
Tactile walls and neon lights make for an almost psychedelic experience, but
Thin’s designers were careful to juxtapose these elements with ultra-modern
designs, including black and white leather lounge chairs coupled with smooth,
angle-free tables that look great covered in cocktails. The result of this
rather unusual, modish contrast is an environment that is at once funky and
fashionable. Rhythm, in music and in design, is the key element at Thin.
It is hard
to get bored at this Downtown
upstairs lounge, when there’s so much to delight the eyes, the ears—and the
palate. Thin features premium cocktails, along with live DJ’s and ample space
for guests to sit, chill, and feel oh-so-sophisticated—without feeling stuffy. The
lounge is well equipped to host parties, business functions, or any other mixer
you can dream up. If you’re simply out with friends and want to give Thin a
try, get an early start since the club gets packed with dancers, drinkers, and
the elegant after work crowd.
