Offering all the ingredients of Downtown that San Diegans love and embrace - neighborhood hangout, hotspot, sports bar, cocktail lounge and upscale, yet reasonably priced restaurant - The Fleetwood has quickly become a major cornerstone of the San Diego East Village since its first induction into the district in 2007.

Unlike its Gaslamp predecessor, known for the multitude of ostentatious clubs ornamented with a queue of patrons decked to the nines and standing in lines as long as a city block, The Fleetwood has been expressing the East Village adage in opening its doors to any and all. This anti exclusive guest list policy translates to: Padres fans, fine diners, and under-the-radar loungers - hats, flip-flops, and stilettos welcome.

To celebrate the first day of the 2008 summer solstice The Fleetwood is throwing the ultimate all-day Summer Kick-Off Party on June the 21st for neighbors, locals and anyone swept up by the new season interested in getting their swagger on Fleetwood style. Staying true to San Diego summer beach-worship form, beach attire is encouraged - and I know there are a few of you out there waiting to stroll downtown with an inflatable neon pink inner tube around your waist.

In addition to bringing a bit of beach madness to the East Village, The Fleetwood will host a revival of the MTV classic, "Singled Out," (The Fleetwood re-mix) and for you younglings who don't know about this timeless dating series, 20-30 bachelors and bachelorettes will vie for a date with one special girl or guy. This episode runs from 8-9:30pm and is sure to arouse some promising entertainment, given beach attire and all.

And let us not forget that The Fleetwood is hosting an open bar, liquor yet to be decided, from 7:30-8:30pm.
