From the weather to the people and entertainment, San Diego is a great place to live. Some residents argue that the community of La Jolla makes for the best lifestyle in San Diego. An afternoon spent in La Jolla will probably make you agree. But, what price would you pay to live in La Jolla?

It’s been reported that a Hollywood celebrity paid over $17 million last week for a La Jolla home boasting a stunning oceanfront location. La Jolla Light is a trusted source for happenings in La Jolla, and Ross Clark of Willis Allen told this newspaper many things about the home and the purchase … except for the real identity of the buyer. We hear the new Hollywood celebrity living in La Jolla is in the entertainment business, but that’s all the juice we have for now.

A-list worthy property: The mysterious star purchased a 9,800-square-foot Lower Hermosa home that crosses over two lots and overlooks the picturesque coastline. We’re not sure if our new neighbor has children, but the house offers 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, ensuring plenty of space for a big family. 

Perhaps we can argue that living in La Jolla San Diego with an ocean view (and 11 bathrooms…) is worth more than money can buy. But, in this economy, how much would you spend on this La Jolla home? Ross Clark told the paper the home was purchased for $17.3 million – one of the highest sale prices San Diego realtors have seen in 2009.
