The San Diego Hilton Garden Inn is known for offering unique dining and hospitality events at an always-affordable price, and this August is no different.
Bistro 39 at Hilton Garden Inn presents an evening of Chocolate and Wine Tasting with local Austrian-influenced chocolatier on Friday, August 7 at 7:30pm.
Isabella Valencia, a third generation member of one of Austria’s premier family of confectioners, and founder and CEO of Dallmann Confections, will showcase five of her finest chocolates at a chocolate and wine tasting at Hilton Garden Inn. The event is open to the public; the cost is $25, which includes a $20 gift certificate to Serenity Spa and Salon – the on-site full service salon.
“I am really excited to bring my chocolates the Carmel Valley/ Del Mar communities. The chocolates are truly unique and they go really well with the wines that the Hilton Garden Inn management team has selected,” said Isabella Valencia.
Bistro 39's Executive Chef, Larry DiFolco, and Hilton Garden Inn's General Manager, Robert Rauch, will pair fine wines to complement each chocolate flavor. The featured wines will include Dolcetto d’Alba, a great Italian red, Kenwood Cuvee, a super sparkling wine, Moscato d’Asti, a delicious dessert wine, Salerno Winery’s Port, a smooth as silk fortified wine and Valley of the Moon Syrah, a fantastic, bold red.

The chocolate menu will include hand-made dark chocolate truffles, Valencias, Jasmine Blossoms, Fleur de Sels and a Lavender-flavored chocolate. The Fleur de Sel, Valencia's most popular confection, is a buttery caramel seasoned with sea salt, encased in bittersweet chocolate and garnished with Fleur de Sel. Another favorite is the Jasmine Blossom, an infusion of relaxing organic jasmine tea with a blend of dark and milk chocolate mixed into a ganache dipped in milk chocolate.
