Published : 4/15/2009 by Ryan Eisenacher

Whether after a long night of club hopping, a long night cheering at PETCO Park, a tiresome night of work, or simply sheer boredom, we’re all guilty of the curse of the late night munchies. Luckily, there are many San Diego restaurants that cater to your cravings.

Discover the top ten restaurants for late night dining in San Diego.

Tajima - Kearny Mesa
If you’re craving a late night nosh of Japanese food, but sushi doesn’t have that usual appetizing zeal, Tajima has just what the doctor ordered. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10:30 pm to 3 am, late night eaters can partake in Ramen Night in Kearny Mesa. Choose from one of seven Ramen options, pick between thin or fat cut noodles, and then decide on your preferred soup flavor: soy sauce, salt, miso or Tajima original.

Brian’s Eatery and Drinkery - Gaslamp
For the Gaslamp-goers who are looking for a little traditional American fare after the bars kick you to the curb after last call, Brian’s has an endless array of food choices to curb your appetite. From chicken and waffles and meat loaf to French toast and the “Sweet and Sexy Belgian waffle” - where else will you find eclectic options in the wee hours of the morning?

Hong Kong Restaurant - Hillcrest
Whether it’s been a belligerent night of binge drinking and you’ve got a serious case of the munchies or you’re just in the mood for some late-night Chinese comfort food, you can undoubtedly find it here. Open until 2:30 in the morning seven days a week, it’s easy to see that this Hillcrest Chinese joint caters to the late night diner. The menu at Hong Kong features scrumptious selections such as walnut shrimp, green bean chicken, Mongolian beef, Szechuan tofu and the signature Hong Kong fried rice.

Turf Supper Club - Golden Hill
Situated atop San Diego’s historic neighborhood of Golden Hill, the Turf Supper club provides patrons with a unique late night dining experience complete with cold drinks, raw meat and a hot self-service grill. Serving the full menu until 1 am every night of the week, diners can feast on anything from Sirloin steak and Ribeye Delmonico to the Portobello mushroom sandwich and seafood teriyaki kabobs.

The Tractor Room - Hillcrest
Calling all carnivores. The Tractor Room is the ticket for honest cocktails and delicious meats. From the prime beef and fresh ground lamb burgers served with criss cross fries to filet mignon skewers and 18 oz porterhouse, the Tractor Room offers the perfect edge of “gamey meats” to curb your late night appetite.

Rudford’s Restaurant - North Park
This old-fashioned 24 hour diner on El Cajon Boulevard in North Park caters to the late-night dining enthusiast alike. Featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner, Rudford’s menu offers country comforts such as biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak and southern fried chicken. If breakfast is calling your name, the list goes on and on including an array of omelets, huevos rancheros, French toast and corned beef hash.

Ciro’s Pizza - Gaslamp
Who can escape the men standing on the corners of 5th and Market nonchalantly twirling those pesky pizza signs after stumbling out of the bar? With a line winding out the door after 1 am every night of the weekend, it’s easy to see that Ciro’s accommodates to the late night cravers. Featuring a variety of inexpensive New York style slices and scrumptious garlic knots, you’re guaranteed to satisfy your late night munchies.

Jimmy Wong’s - Hillcrest
This Asian bistro in Hillcrest might seem a little bit swanky compared to most late-night dining options, but don’t be so easily fooled. Open until the wee hours of 3 am every day of the week, Jimmy Wong’s is always packed with throngs of patrons dying to get a hand on their delicious entrees. The lengthy menu includes appetizers such as the Singapore style stuffed chicken wings or the signature “money bags”, a variety of hot and spicy soups, spicy lettuce wraps, noodle dishes and curries.
