OK that headline is a bit of a trick: You probably think you're clicking a story about antioxidant-rich, acai-and-blueberry mimosas. (I just had one better than grape soda at Imig's Kitchen & Bar.)
Sorry about that.
The disease-fighting foodstuff I'm talking about supports The Center's important work surrounding HIV/AIDS. And all you have to do is have normal, feelgood fun at the restaurants chipping in for the sixth annual Dine Out For Life, Thursday, April 26.
A percentage of your three-square meals and cocktail rounds will be donated to The Center's prevention and care programs, like food services for San Diego's HIV community, and testing for HIV/STDs. See the full list of Dine Out For Life participating restaurants here.
R Gang Eatery, from "Top Chef" alum Rich Sweeney, is donating 100-percent of the monies raked in from that day's stiff cocktails and retro-Americana eats (tuna noodle casserole!).
The Burger Lounges in Hillcrest and Kensington are in for half that day's earnings. And a gaggle of neighborhood greats -- Bread and Cie, Jayne's Gastropub, Saltbox, Alchemy, The Mission and around 100 more -- will donate 25 percent.
Make a reservation, get your family and friends to dine about town Thursday.
