Suite & Tender Serves New American Bistro Menu for Fall


The benefits of being a Californian are endless and invariably rewarding. Suite & Tender is long known to dish out culinary flawlessness for the San Diego community within the Se San Diego Hotel. This past spring, however, Chef Anthony Calamari took the exquisiteness to a whole new level when he became the Executive Chef of Suite & Tender. Chef Calamari brings to Suite & Tender his past work in top restaurants, including Cielo Restaurant at Ventana Inn. His skillful preparation and artsy presentation make for some one-of-a-kind flavor matched with aesthetically appealing looks. Most recently, Chef Calamari gave the menu an American Bistro makeover to reflect his experiences in the French and California cuisine sector.


Now just in time for fall, Suite & Tender introduces a new spread of American Bistro menu items by Chef Calamari. The best part of the newly reawakened menu is that you don’t need to be a million-dollar mogul to take a bite of the fine cuisine. The dishes all price under $25 – affordable for anyone looking to indulge in the best of American Bistro cuisine, rich with freshness and succulence.


The innovative menu divides the meal by the Beginning, the Continuation, and the Final Presentation. At the top of the offerings is the new Duck “Hash” with a Soft Poached Egg, delicious Baby Arugula and Orange-Maple Vinaigrette; and Chardonnay Braised Artichoke Hearts with Roasted Tri-Color Peppers and Lemon Pepper Aioli. In the entrees offerings, you’ll find some tender Spiced Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs; Pave New York Au Poivre with Blue Cheese Potato Gratin; and Herbed Pappardelle Pasta with a Roasted Mushroom Medley, Arugula, Pecorino Cheese and Cracked Black Pepper. The new menu also has a customizable burger with optional toppings like maple-glazed bacon, roasted thyme and shiitake mushrooms. Need a bit of sweet to finish of the meal? Chef Calamari brings in his S&T Cheesecake served with Pomegranate Sauce, Candied Blood Orange, Milk Chocolate and Blood Orange Sorbet to top off a fusion of zest.


With exceptionally reasonable prices and the most delectable of tastes, there’s no better way celebrate the good ol’ California sun than relaxed amidst Suite & Tender’s soothing ambiance. Kick back on their warm chocolate-brown leather chairs, booths and tables. The restaurant now has new hours in honor of the American Bistro renovation, serving dinner Tuesday through Thursday 6 –10pm and Friday and Saturdays 7 –11pm. Suite & Tender also extends breakfast hours Monday through Friday 7 –10:30am and Weekends 7 – 11:30am.
