If you haven’t heard, gourmet food trucks are all the rage in Southern California. From tacos and burritos, to burgers, pizza and hot dogs, restaurants have become more and more popular among city-dwellers, who appreciate good food on the go.
While you may have already had a chance to sample some delicious eats from San Diego’s best food trucks, you most likely haven’t yet had a chance to sample some of LA’s finest. That is, until now.
Food Trucks and Fun will take San Diego by storm from Friday, May 20th through Sunday, May 22nd, where 10 of LA’s best gourmet food trucks will travel down south to meet up with 11 of our favorite gourmet truck food suppliers. The result: A foodie extravaganza!
Participating trucks from Los Angeles include: Lobsta Truck, Loma Arigato, Tapa Boy, Vesuvio, Ahn Joo, Frysmith, Lee’s Philly, Vizzi Truck, and Tropical Shave Ice. Grill ‘em All, the winning truck on Season One of Food Network’s Great Truck Race, will also be dishing out delicacies. The treaty trucks from LA will also be joined by some of San Diego’s top trucks including Chop Sooey, Miho Gastrotruck, Tabe BBQ, Food Junkies, India on Wheels, Super Q, Devilicous, SD Street Eats, Kalbi Q, Ms. Patty Melt, and the Sweet Treats Truck.
On Friday, May 20th, the first meet up spot will be from 1pm to 4pm at Boomers! in San Diego located at 6999 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The following day, the trucks will change locations to the Boomers! in El Cajon and set up shop from 1pm to 4pm; and the final fun-filled foodie day will take place from 11am to 4pm at the Boomers! in Vista on Sunday, May 22nd. From Peruvian and Japanese fusion masterpieces to the finest cheesesteaks in the state, there will be something to satisfy even the pickiest palette. Top-quality appetizers, entrées, drinks, and desserts will make for a leisurely day of gourmet sampling.
Entrance to the event costs only $5, which you then get back in the form of a $5 play card from Boomers! to be used however you wish. From go-kart racing to mini-golf, the options for fun are endless. In addition, a live DJ will be on the premises to set the mood for food and fun.
