It goes without saying that fall is a season of replete indulgence. Every which way we turn, we are continually graced with boxes upon boxes of tasty pumpkin pie only to be washed down with mass amounts of savory autumn-inspired brews.
In lieu of this amicable autumn season, the waterfront Red Marlin restaurant at the Mission Bay Hyatt Regency is slated to host a “Taste of Red Marlin” cooking seminar on Tuesday, October 26th.
During this fun-filled culinary event, attendees will learn how to incorporate some of award-winning Poway-based Lightning brews into their everyday cooking with the help of Red Marlin’s Chef de Cuisine, Danny Bannister.
Over the years, Chef Bannister has honed his skills in some of the most prestigious kitchens in across the county and this month he will utilize his renowned cooking skills to create a unique composition of flavorful American cuisine paired with European-style beers.
Bannister’s menu will provide an up-close demonstration of Thunderweizen Steamed Clams with cabbage, bratwurst and grain mustard, paired with Lightning Brewery Thunderweizen; the second course constitutes a savory dish encompassing Electrostatic Ale Brined Pork Tenderloin with butternut squash puree, escarole and celery root chips, paired with Lightning Brewery Electrostatic Ale; the third course compromises Black Lightning Porter Braised Short Rib with vanilla mashed potatoes, rainbow carrots and coco jus, paired with Lightning Brewery Black Lightning Porter; and Spiced Apple Crisp paired with Lightning Brewery Old Tempest Ale.
Guests will have the ultimate experience this evening when they are seated at the Chef’s Table in the heart of Red Marlin. The dynamic setting will allow guests to take full advantage of the panoramic views of both Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean while enjoying a selection of appetizing appetizers, entrees and desserts.
Tickets to the cooking seminar cost $60 per person, which includes samples of each dish with paired Lightning Brewery beers. To RSVP, please call 619.221.4868 and for more information, please visit Red Marlin in Mission Bay.
