The Karina’s restaurants have been a hub of authentic Mexican dining, art and music since 1981. With a casual ambience and vibrant furnishings at each establishment, Karina’s has recently introduced a new location with a high-end twist.
Occupying the old Brigantine off of Eastlake Parkway, Enamorada by Karina’s is an upscale version of the chain, and the first of its kind. Low lighting with red and violet undertones, a sleek black wraparound bar and modern leather seating make Enamorada a sultry dining spot. Bright, bold touches of traditional Mexican décor flow throughout the indoor dining room, lounge and spacious outdoor patio.
Enamorada shares the same extensive menu as its sister restaurants. Guests can expect Mexican seafood recipes passed down from generation to generation, with a few specialty dishes. The Chicken Mole and Halibut Mixiotes are dishes not found at any other location. Whether you’re just stopping by for a cocktail or taking a seat to devour a meal, there are a few dishes that just can’t be missed.
The Ceviche is a must-have, and each Karina's offers more than 10 different varieties. Its signature recipe with chopped shrimp, cucumbers, avocado and cilantro is topped with Karina's spicy Chile Serrano sauce. Ahi tuna, salmon, jumbo lump crab meat and octopus versions also never fail to please – depending on how adventurous of a diner you are. Seafood cocktails, scallops and mussels, and hot melted cheese molcajete are more appetizers worth making room for.
If you’ve saved room for a main course, opt for the Sky, Sea and Land specialty, or Sinaloa’s most traditional dish – Charbroiled Seafood. Larger groups will enjoy the family-style offerings, with enough food to feed a small fleet. Having served San Diego for over thirty years, it’s safe to say that Karina’s – and now Enamorada – are here to stay.
Enamorada by Karina’s is located at 866 Eastlake Parkway in Chula Vista.
