Living Room Lounging in La Jolla Village

Posted On : 7/9/2007 by Jessica Nager

The Living Room is a home away from home for many college students, who move in temporarily and spend the night studying away. The eclectic decor of worn couches and rickety tables, combined with the pervasive coffee smell keep students on edge, ready to study until the early morning light.

But even if you finished your final final years ago, the Living Room can be a welcomed retreat from the hustle and bustle of La Jolla Village. Step down into the cool and welcoming coffee shop, and take your pick from the seemingly-ever growing menu of healthy fresh food options.

For breakfast, the Living Room offers the typical café goodies – muffins, scones, biscotti, strudel, and danishes, bagels – in addition to breakfast croissant sandwiches, granola, and waffles.  Later, the menu expands for lunch and dinner options. You can find everything from pesto tortellini to pizza, from a grilled eggplant pesto with spinach sandwich to a buffalo mozzarella, tomato, and basil salad. Most entrees come with fresh fruit and bread on the side.

And don’t forget the coffee. With an almost overwhelming selection of signature caffeinated delights, you have to try at least one. For an extra jolt, go with the Hammerhead. For something more than a little sweet, order the Milky Way, available hot or iced.
