Beaumont's Serves New Winter Menu

Although Bird Rock’s main strip may be referred to as the Boulevard of Broken Dreams by locals who have witnessed many businesses quickly come and go, there is one staple restaurant that is not going anywhere, and is always worth a trip out to La Jolla.

Beaumont’s is the ultimate Bird Rock neighborhood restaurant that attracts a dedicated La Jolla clientele every day of the week for lunch, dinner, late night drinks, live music and weekend brunch. Chef Scott Cathcart's burgers are arguably the best in La Jolla, and the ever-changing seasonal menus never fail to surprise us with new favorites, each always made with fresh, local ingredients.

Just in time for the chilly winter season, Beaumont’s unveils a new dinner menu with such standout items as Nut & Seed Crusted Sea Bass, French Style Country Meatloaf, Port Braised Lamb Shank, and let’s not forget the best part, Hazelnut Gelato Bon Bons for dessert!

Beaumont’s new winter dinner menu offers a variety of starter Greens & Soups, including the Taste of Bird Rock Grilled Salad with grilled hearts of romaine and radicchio, feta, avocado, pine nuts and tzatziki vinaigrette; Organic Baby Spinach Salad with walnut crusted gorgonzola, strawberries, dried cherries and honey balsamic vinaigrette; and Beaumont’s Signature Homemade Soup that is a must-try for all newbies. The Tastings portion of the menu boasts generous portion appetizers to share. A few of our favorites are the Pork Chille Relleno with queso oaxaca and chipotle crème fraîche; Steamed Mussels & Clams with oven roasted tomatoes, shoestring potatoes and rouille; and Macadamia & Wasabi Crusted Day Boat Scallops with hearts of palm and citrus-vegetable Israeli couscous.

Beaumont’s revamped menu really shines with the entrée selection. Perfect for a brisk winter evening, try the French Style Country Meatloaf with sun dried tomatoes, house mash potatoes and garlic green beans; Nut & Seed Crusted Sea Bass with cannelloni beans, cured bacon, truffle avocado relish and zesty herb brodo; Port Braised Lamb Shank with grilled onion and olive smashed potatoes, caramelized brussels sprouts and braising jus; and the California Cioppino with fresh fish, manila clams, black mussels, wild shrimp, saffron potatoes and leek-tomato broth. More menu staples include the Chile-Lime Free-Range ½ Chicken, Slow Braised Short Rib, and Beaumont’s Signature Burger.

And because during winter, it’s always acceptable to order a dessert (or two!) to share, we recommend the Hazelnut Gelato Bon Bons with bittersweet chocolate, pistachio dust and caramel sauce; and Banana Foster Bread Pudding with chocolate, dark rum reduction and hazelnut ice cream. If you’re like me and prefer to drink your dessert when it’s close-to-freezing outside (for San Diego…), indulge in a Barracho Chocolate – Ibarra Hot Chocolate with Kahlua; Keoki Coffee – Kahlua and Brandy; or Cappuccino l’Mour – Frangelico and Bailey’s.

Beaumont’s is located at 5662 La Jolla Blvd. in Bird Rock. For more details, please call 858.459.0474.
