Fall is fun for so many reasons. Halloween costumes, autumn home décor, the welcomed return of comfort food and, my personal favorite, Oktoberfest celebrations … in the kitchen.
The Ivy Hotel’s Quarter Kitchen presents a festive Oktoberfest menu with authentic German specialties served with beer pairing selections, available October 5 through October 20. Celebrate the new season with this special Oktoberfest menu crafted by Executive Chef Nathan Coulon.
The a la carte menu includes German Leek and Potato Soup, a Puree of Leek and Potatoes with Chopped Ham; Hasenpfeffer, Rabbit Stew Served with Spatzle and Braised Red Cabbage; Choucroute du Canard, White Wine Sauerkraut with Juniper Berries, Roasted Duckling and Boiled Potatoes; and Wiener Schitzel, Veal Loin, Hazelnut and Herb Crust Served with Spatzle and Braised Red Cabbage. For dessert, guests can indulge in a German Chocolate Cake.
If you’re unsure how to order and enjoy these German dishes, hold your appetite for the special Oktoberfest Food and Beer Pairing event on Sunday, October 18 starting at 6:30pm. Quarter Kitchen will make sure your palate is well taken care of for $75 per person. The five-course menu includes German Leek and Potato Soup, Puree of Leek and Potatoes with Chopped Ham; Hasenpfeffer, a traditional German Rabbit Stew served with Spatzle, and Braised Red Cabbage; Choucroute Garni or White Wine Sauerkraut with Juniper Berries, German Style Sausages and Boiled Potatoes; Wiener Schnitzel, Veal Loin, Hazelnut and Herb Crust served with Spatzle and Braised Red Cabbage; and a German Chocolate Cake will complete the meal.
