Organic To Go: San Diego Goes Organic

Published : 10/9/2007 by Meg Day

Amidst the health-food craze sweeping the nation, if you've been wondering why there aren't any all-organic restaurants around town, then you're in good company - and if you happen to be in San Diego, you're also in luck.

Seattle-based Organic To Go has been busy setting up shop right here in San Diego, with its most recent acquisition happening in downtown La Jolla. Since replacing the cove's Sunflowers Café and Bakery, as well as two locations of Scott's Gourmet Sandwiches Downtown, the only thing growing longer than the list of Organic To Go's great reviews is the line out front during the lunch hour rush.

Settle into a café seat and enjoy one of Organic To Go San Diego's signature items, all of which are fresh and organic to the max. Grab a "Lunch Bag" to go and satisfy yourself with a fully portioned lunch that includes a sandwich, salad or wrap accompanied by a big 17 oz bottle of water, natural chips, organic croutons or crackers, crisp organic apple slices and one of their locally famous organic cookies. If you're really feeling hungry, feel free to savor the various chicken and turkey entrees they have on hand, along with a library of soup, salad, and pasta options.

Want to share your hearty shouts of joy with your coworkers? Organic To Go offers incredible catering possibilities, each of which is made to your preference. Whether it's an appetizer tray, entrees for a business meeting or Lunch Bags for the whole office, Organic To Go can accommodate in whole-health style.

This Just In: OTG's Holiday Menu is out! Make your conference call worth it with signature Grilled Chicken Breast with Mango Tango Chutney sauce, Mediterranean appetizer plates, aged cheese trays, and decadent finger-dessert platters.

Fun Facts: Not only does Organic To Go uses hybrid cars to deliver their organic foodstuff to your door, but they also use biodegradable plastic as their takeout containers. OTG employees also wear organic tshirts and all bottled water comes from Athena, a supplier that gives 100% of its profits to support women's cancer research.

Insider Tip: If you're looking to have an event catered, keep in mind that the minimum for delivery is $75 - and that you need to order by 6pm the night before for breakfast delivery starting at 7am.
