Padres Brunch at Toast Enoteca & Cucina

Posted On : 4/16/2012 by DiscoverSD

Anyone can expect the usual hot dogs and beer when heading out to a Padres baseball game.  There is something so distinctly American about grilling some frankfurters and enjoying time with loved ones before watching your favorite team hit some home runs.

But let’s be real, an early greasy lunch can weigh down anyone’s day. Spice things up with a little Italian love because a new way to tailgate is just a few steps away from Petco Park, at affordable prices that put a twist on your mundane meals. The 2012 Padres season gives you more excuse now than ever to check out some of the East Village restaurants and bars that give fans a place to fuel up or unwind.

Toast Enoteca & Cucina's Sunday Game Day Brunch dishes up traditional breakfast favorites with a fresh Italian twist during Padres home games. In continuing with last year’s tradition, Sunday Game Day Brunch will cater to Padres fans with a morning menu to devour. Featured on the menu is a Toast Benedict with eggs benedict stacked on focaccia and topped with prosciutto and a rosemary hollandaise. If you’re looking for an omelet, Toast has them for $10 with mix-ins of gorgonzola and spinach Italian sausage, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella broccoli, cauliflower, radicchio or mozzarella.

To stock up on savory before the game, breakfast Panini’s with eggs, salami, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes on focaccia should do the trick. Although if your appetite calls for a lighter breakfast, $8 Nutella and Banana Crepes are available along with refreshing strawberries, bananas and honey almond granola swirled in tasty yogurt.

To complement these dishes, pair your omelet or panini with a $10 festive glass of Prosecco and $4 mimosas, a brunch drink staple.  For the wine lovers, Toast’s vast selections of more than 400 wines are available to tickle your taste buds. You’ll be pre-gaming at Toast like you’ve never pre-gamed before.

Toast it up: Sunday brunch will be served before each Sunday Padres home game from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Kick back and enjoy baseball season in the heart of East Village, just a block away from the stadium. To make reservations, call 877.562.9533 or visit Toast in East Village.
