Parallel 33: Cuisine with Latitude

Let’s say you were to leave San Diego and travel the world. But instead of hop-scotching your way around the globe, you decided to go in a straight line. What kinds of food would you come across?


Instead of pilfering your piggy bank to find out, simply reserve a table at Parallel 33. Parallel 33 takes the fusion concept quite literally – and laterally – by circling the globe and combining the cuisines of the countries along the 33rd equatorial line.


Expand your culinary repertoire by sampling dishes from Japan, China, India, Lebanon, and Morocco. Start with vegetarian samosas and chutney and a Golden Buddha, a signature cocktail made with rum, ginger beer, and candied lemon. Continue your trans-Pacific journey with pan seared shrimp curry and coconut rice or chicken with saffron risotto. Finish your international excursion with the bittersweet chocolate cake, accompanied by candied oranges and orange crème gelato.
