Pop-up: Relate at St. Germain's Bistro

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Chef Dan Moody – also known as The RelationChef – is introducing local foodies to the very first “pop-up” dining experience of its kind in San Diego.

A San Diego native, The RelationChef is an expert in dating and relationship-related cooking advice. From tips for a successful first dinner date to what meal to make for your 25th wedding anniversary, The RelationChef is your man for all things romantic in the kitchen. But this February, he is pairing romance with revolution, and getting ready to unveil a brand new dining concept in Encinitas: Relate.

So, what exactly is a pop-up restaurant? This hot culinary trend is when a new experimental concept leverages the kitchen of an already-established restaurant and re-invents the atmosphere for diners during its off-hours. Chef Moody is preparing to pop up within St. Germain’s Bistro in Encinitas for three short and exciting weeks.

February 3 – 26, 2011 the coastal St. Germain’s Bistro will be transformed into Chef Moody’s new culinary concept Relate. Once normal breakfast and lunch service is over at St. Germain’s, the restaurant will undergo a complete transformation – new art on the walls, table settings, and music – to become a fine dining dinner experience. Relate at Bistro St. Germain’s will serve contemporary French cuisine with a down-home American twist.

“Relate will offer an exciting new dining experience for anyone who loves good food and good company – and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the culinary community in San Diego,” said Chef Dan Moody.  “My hope is that Relate will satisfy the inquisitive ‘foodies’ who have high expectations of the food, as well as those who are simply curious about the pop-up concept.  I look forward to serving everyone!”

Following the public grand opening on February 3rd, Relate at Bistro St. Germain’s will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 2/3/11 – 2/26/11, from 6 – 10pm, and is located at 1010 S. Coast Hwy 101.
