The quaint and rustic restaurant Mille Fleurs in Rancho Santa Fe invites San Diego foodies to celebrate Oktoberfest with a limited time menu and beer pairing dinner crafted by Chef De Cuisine Martin Woesle.
Chef Woesle was born and raised in Southern Germany and is bringing an authentic $40 Oktoberfest pre-fixe menu to your San Diego table October 6 – 18.
The Oktoberfest menu begins with “Vorspeisen” or starters including Fried Cambozola Cheese with Pear-Walnut Sauce; Imported Black Forest Prosciutto on Garden Greens with Radishes and Nettle Leaf Vinaigrette; Suckling Pig in Aspic with Shallot Vinaigrette and Mustard; and Pickled Herring.
“Hauptgerichte” or main course options include Paprika Beef Goulash with Homemade Spatzle Noodles; Oven-Roasted Suckling Pig on Sauerkraut with Grapes and Mashed Potatoes; Veal Loin “Weiner Schnitzel” with Capers and Lemon Butter; and Bread Dumpling with Apple Smoked Bacon and Chanterelle Mushrooms in Parsley Cream Sauce. A warm dessert or “Nachtish” of Apple Strudel with Cinnamon and Caramel Sauce will complete the meal.
Getting Thirsty? Opt for the German beer pairings for the real Oktoberfest dining experience. Mille Fleurs will be pouring some of Germany’s most famous handcrafted beers, including Josefi Bock, Hopf Dunkle Weisse, Hopf Special Weisse, Schonramer Pils and Schonramer Festweisse. German wines will also be served.
