Red Marlin Easter Bunch and Underwater Egg Hunt

Published : 3/12/2008 by DiscoverSD

Red Marlin, the new bayside restaurant at the Hyatt Mission Bay, embraces spring with a bountiful brunch buffet and an underwater Easter egg hunt.

While the buffet prepared by Chef de Cuisine Danny Bannister will delight the palates of all San Diego parents, the unique Easter festivities will also provide holiday fun for the kids. New to the San Diego restaurant scene, Red Marlin on Mission Bay is already proving it will quickly become a family favorite San Diego Easter brunch location.

When not hiding eggs in and around the three new pools and waterslides at the newly renovated neighboring Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, the Easter Bunny will make surprise visits to the restaurant throughout the morning. This Easter egg hunt will have a distinct San Diego flair, with kids diving under water to find some holiday treasures at the underwater Easter egg hunt, starting at noon. Kids can also color their own eggs beginning at 2pm.

Paired with Red Marlin's beautiful panoramic bay views, the delectable Easter brunch includes Seafood Provencal with shrimp, scallops, squid and fish baked in a tomato broth with garlic, basil and olives; Crispy Skin Chicken with wild rice, dried fruits and local spring vegetables; a Carving Station with Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb with minted jus; Ham with mustard and red current glaze and New York Strip Loin with horseradish and crimini mushroom demi; and a Dessert Station featuring a Shortcake Bar with angel food cake and  lemony pound cake with citrus scented whipped cream and Petite Fours with mini cupcakes and other assorted treats.

All this, plus traditional breakfast favorites, including an Omelet Station, Waffle Station with assorted fruit compotes and whipped cream; Smoked Salmon with mini bagels; and the Red Marlin Salad Station with grilled vegetables with Lemon Hummus and Bagel Chips.

Red Marlin's Easter brunch buffet is available from 10am to 2pm and is $39.95 per person, $19.00 for children aged four-12, children three and under are free.
