For years, Extraordinary Desserts in San Diego has been regarded as the quintessential local spot for delectably elegant desserts. Dessert Chef Karen Krasne's picturesque pastries, cookies, and cakes leave customers in awe of indulgence.
But as much as we all love these well-known sweet treats, it's about time another San Diego dessert establishment break into the upscale scene.
Although Heaven Sent Desserts in North Park has also received much praise for their exceptionally exquisite delicacies over the years, this smaller scale dessert spot has recently begun to gain increasing popularity among San Diego sweet teeth in 2008.
Nestled in North Park's bustling retail district, Heaven Sent Desserts is acclaimed for its delectable wedding cakes, specialty pastries, and European style crepes and cookies. Of course, when you have a menu boasting sweet treats such as a Sunday Bloody Sundae (pictured), which is a combination of rich chocolate brownies, mint ice cream and blood orange sorbet all accented with butterscotch'd caramel and chocolate sauces, it's no doubt their cozy booths are occupied by chocolate addicts of all ages.
On January 15, 2008, the new Executive Chef, Tina Luu (highly responsible for the recent praise), announced plans to celebrate the two year anniversary with a month long "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" theme. From March 15th to April 15th, Heaven Sent Desserts will give customers the chance to find one of several golden tickets tucked within mouthwatering tidbits. These tickets will announce winners of free desserts and drinks as well as a $400 custom cake.
Chef Luu believes this nostalgic anniversary theme will be a fun way to give thanks to loyal patrons while celebrating the freshly confirmed ascent into the upscale dessert realm. The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory concept is bound to bring delight to individuals of all ages.
