San Diego Padres Suit Up to Serve at Acqua Al 2

Sure, the San Diego Padres have played a stellar season of ball and once again captured our collective team spirit, but these local stars are more than just athletes on a field; the Padres consistently participate in various charities throughout the region and actively lend a helping hand in areas of need. Can you say all-around, grade-A fellas?

On Sunday, September 25th, the San Diego Padres players and management are donning their best chef, bartender, and waiter attire at Acqua Al 2, for an evening of authentic Italian cuisine that benefits an important cause. The Padres dinner will raise funds for Rady Children’s Hospital and UCSD, for research and awareness of MRSA and to support kids and families who are fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Don’t be alarmed when your Fusilli Lunghi ai Pepperoni (an Acqua favorite) is served up by pitcher Cory Luebke, as the Padres will take over everything from the kitchen corners to the cocktail shakers, showing a new set of skills away from the field. Guests can prepare for a five-course dinner paired with fine wines, as well as a live auction with items including a round of golf with Bud Black and Trevor Hoffman, and an opportunity drawing for a chance to be “A Padre for a Day in Spring Training.” Not to mention, those in attendance will be free to mingle with Padres players and ask for any items to be autographed.

Keep your eyes peeled for San Diego Padres’ Manager Bud Black, serving guests right alongside the players at this annual event that also recognizes Acqua Al 2’s 11th Anniversary. The grand red carpet welcome begins at 5:30pm and proceeds with photo opportunities with Bud Black and Padres players, the dinner, the live auction, and concludes with live entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased at buddyblack.eventbrite.com, with pre-sale available at $190 per person and $220 per person after September 16th, all benefiting the Rady Children’s Hospital. In six consecutive years, the event has sold out, so be sure to secure your spot soon. Acqua Al 2 boasts top-notch Italian food that captures the essence of traditional Italian cafes, including creative Tuscan cuisine and friendly hospitality. Test your new Major League Baseball chefs to see if they can stay up to the pasta, filet mignon, and dessert standards normally held at the restaurant.
