San Diego Restaurant Pick of the Week: Starlite Lounge in Little Italy

Posted On : 7/25/2007 by Regina Benedetti

Discover the San Diego restaurant pick of the week from Starlite Lounge in Mission Hills.

Starlite is hidden behind two mysterious hexagon shaped doors on India Street. Brand new to the restaurant and nightlife scene, the Starlite Lounge has a little something for everyone. And with an expansive selection of hard-to-find alcohols and an ever-changing menu, Starlite keeps customers returning time and time again.

"We've got quite an eclectic crowd; from architects to doctors to guys who can't tie their shoes and downtown starch-collar guys on the bachelor's prowl," Co-owner Matt Hoyt explains with a laugh.
Discover the pick of the week from Starlite Lounge: the Starlite burger. This popular menu item is a 100% natural brandt ground chuck burger with gruyere and caramelized onions. Visitors rave it's a hefty portion of strong, thick meat--juicy and cooked to perfection on a mesquite grill.

The Starlite burger is served with homemade frites and a mustard dijon. While many items on the menu fluctuate week to week, this signature burger has become a constant by popular demand. Try is for yourself for $13 at Starlite Lounge.

"It's the only burger I've never added anything to, and many customers have said the same." says Hoyt.

Each beverage is all natural, nothing is premixed. The Starlite staff is proud of their prices--while they serve upscale meals, they stand by affordable prices.

Make yourself at home on the outdoor patio, at the bar or inside the main dining room. The dim lighting and artistic staff will create a relaxing urban atmosphere.

"I want our customers to have a sense of discovery at Starlite. It will be a different experience for everyone" says Hoyt. Be sure to check out the Starlite Lounge and create an experience of your own.
