Owned by All-Pro linebacker and former Charger Junior Seau, Seau's The Restaurant in Mission Valley has been San Diego's pre-eminent sports bar for over a decade.
Seau's diners enter through architecture designed to look like the outside of a Major League Stadium (an entrance nicknamed "The Tunnel") and are immediately treated to no fewer than five dozen television monitors and a gigantic projection screen.
A separate sushi bar and lounge, Raw Mana, is also worth checking out. Seau's boasts its very own broadcasting station with state of the art audio/visual equipment, Studio 55, where media professionals can often be found pontificating on the sports scene. Seau's customers might also find themselves rubbing shoulders with sports figures, various celebrities and if you time it right, even the eponymous owner himself.
Dinner entrees range in price from $12-27 and include such popular selections as Mama Seau's Teriyaki Combo Special with chicken and/or beef, rice, and shrimp potato salad. Other menu stand-outs include appetizers like the Blackened Salmon Quesadilla, Potato Skins, and Bruschetta, as well as delectable desserts such as the signature Caramel Brownie Cheesecake. They even have a menu for the little athletes.
Seau's The Restaurant takes reservations for parties of 8 or more, but not on big game days. Upcoming special events include next week's Cinco de Mayo celebration, which includes a happy hour from noon to 6pm, food and drink specials, and a Best Sombrero Contest that will snag its winner a $500 prize - judging begins at 5pm.
