New Canine Menu at Shades Oceanfront Bistro

I don’t care what anyone has to say, but a dog is truly man’s best friend. We folks over here at DiscoverSD wholeheartedly believe in the truth of this attestation because on any given day, you can walk in to find that our office also serves as a full-fledged dog park.

Personally, I think everyone should own a dog because they bring that much love and joy to the world. I usually take my dog Hank Moody with me everywhere I go. Work, the grocery store, the bank, random car rides, to get the mail, you name it - my chunky dunk teddy bear is always at my side. Regrettably, I have yet to find many San Diego restaurants that willingly allow me to bring my lovable, huggable Hank in to dine with me.

Shades Oceanfront Bistro in Ocean Beach has always been a popular destination for dog lovers, and now they introduce a new Fido Menu for all of our adorable four-legged friends to enjoy. The Fido Menu is made from people grade ingredients, fresh and wholesome with no seasoning or preservatives. Options include beef, chicken or pork for only $3.95 with any “People Meal” purchase. In order to participate in the Fido Menu, customers must request a patio rail table so they can be seated with their dog.

“Customers bring their dogs to our restaurant all of time because of our outdoor dining layout,” says Owner Dave Martin. “We thought we should whip up a dog friendly menu to support our customers with dogs in tow.”

Date Your Dog: For all you San Diego singles out there sweating the fast-approaching hallmark holiday known as Valentine’s Day, you’re not alone. The only real man I happen to have in my life right now happens to have four furry legs. However, I’m not about to let this get me down. If you’re in the same boat as I am come February 14th, embrace your loyal and loving pooch and take them out on a proper date at Shades. Who knows, maybe you’ll find yourself another dog-loving single while your dog makes friends and enjoys a delicious meal. Now that’s something to bark about!
