Stone Brewing Co. 16th Anniversary Party

One of our favorite local craft breweries has reached an important milestone. Stone Brewing Co. is celebrating their Sweet 16.

No glitter and gumdrops here. Brace yourself for more beer than you can handle and two days of honoring the legend that is Stone.

The Stone Brewing Co. Brewers Reception, 16th Anniversary Celebration and Invitational Beer Festival take place on August 17 and 18 at Cal State San Marcos. Stone Brewing Co. is a beloved destination for beer lovers in North County San Diego, and over the years we’ve seen Stone transform from a locally known label to an internationally respected brand.

On Friday, August 17th, Stone will kick off the Brewers Reception from 6-9pm featuring a range of beer makers from various labels. Here, you’ll meet some of the world-class brewers, sip on special beers with no wristband limitations, devour the complimentary gourmet food and enjoy the live music in a relaxed atmosphere. This pre-celebration offers dozens of beers that won’t be available at the main festival. Tickets are priced at $75 and can be purchased at stonebrew.com.

Once Saturday, August 18th rolls around, you’ll be well-prepared for the endless drinks at the Stone 16th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival. Two separate sessions will be offered, either from 11am to 2pm or 3pm to 6pm. The anniversary celebration suits you up with a commemorative 16th Anniversary tasting glass for ten 4 oz samples from over 40 breweries and over 100 beers. Stone brews will be on cask, along with non-alcoholic treats like free homebrewed sodas, samples of Mike’s Beer Cheese and Arrogant Bastard Ale onion rings. Tickets are priced at $40 and can be purchased at stonebrew.com.

For their Sweet 16, Stone is inviting dozens of their brewing buddies to celebrate alongside of them. Guest breweries will include Ballast Point, Coronado Brewing Co., Green Flash Brewing Co., Julian Hard Cider, Lost Abbey, Mission Brewery and more.  

Worried about getting home safe? Stone provides designated driving perks. For the Brewers Reception on Friday, guests can opt for a $25 Designated Driver ticket available at the door. For Saturday’s events, they’ll offer a $10 Designated Driver ticket.

Stone has left quite a legacy in San Diego and deserves a few days of fun. It’s no small feat that they grew from a mere 400 barrels of ale in their first year to a nationally-celebrated and trusted company, producing 180,000 barrels per year.
