At a place like Toast Enoteca & Cucina where over 300 wines get served by the glass, the bottle, or from the wine dispensing Enomatic machines, it’s only natural to want to take some home. While doggie bags can box-up your leftover chow, it’s through a new wine shop and retail wine program that savvy guests can carry out their sips, too.
As Toast Enoteca & Cucina celebrates their second anniversary, they’re launching a few new ideas that have guests raising a glass in merriment. Toast is introducing lower retail prices on their portfolio of 300 wines, which are now available for purchase to-go. In addition, these wines can be enjoyed within the restaurant with a $7 corkage fee. Not your average wine bar, Toast’s wine collection spans vineyards across the globe, including Italy, Spain, Germany, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and California.
And it’s much in thanks to owner and executive chef Martin Gonzalez’s success, who also owns Acqua Al 2. He’s emphasized a growing and expanding wine list for guests to look forward to, as well as the opportunity to educate and introduce diners constantly to something new in wine.
To top it off, Toast is showing their patrons of two years some thankfulness with a new winter menu. The selection of satisfying dishes to pair with wines include Tagliatelle Al Vino Bianco e Guanciale, a tagliatelle pasta in a white wine and guanciale cream sauce; Lasagna Bianca, lasagna with a cremini mushroom and parmesan stuffing; Pizza Al Gorgonzola e Peperoni Dolci, made with a light tomato sauce, organic sweet mini peppers, onions, pine nuts, mozzarella and gorgonzola cheese; or Pollo Alla Melagrana, chicken breast in a mushroom sauce and pomegranate served with roasted cauliflower.
In one final salute of all things Toast, they’ll now offer free validated parking for guests that spend $20 at lunch and $50 at dinner. This offer excludes parking on holidays and Padres’ home games.
Located on 927 J Street, Toast Enoteca & Cucina boasts itself as a dream destination for oenophiles looking to celebrate exquisite wine, gourmet Italian fare and great company. With the 300 fine wines available to purchase by the glass, by the bottle or wine dispensing Enomatic machines, there’s a drink for everyone. Not to mention, a paired gourmet Italian menu carefully designed to reflect all wines offered.
