The classic food truck, or travelling lunch truck, was certainly never intended for the hoity-toity crowd. Originally viewed as a beacon of hope to hungry blue-collared pedestrians looking to catch a break during a hard day at work, the food truck will always have a place in American culture. While it has always been considered a step ahead of the average fast food spot, these trucks are actually starting to rival a home cooked meal.
Recently, the lunch truck has gotten a gourmet makeover. Once noted for its inexpensive, greasy fare, some have moved on to more elaborate cuisines. While not all food trucks are going the way of the fast paced, five star meal served out of a truck, it certainly doesn’t hurt to introduce a bit of variety into the industry. The food truck era is here, and with modern improvements housed on many of the trucks, the food is better than ever before.
