Acceptable Animal Print Fashion at San Diego Boutiques

Published : 7/16/2008 by Vanessa Valiente

The animal print never ceases to show up on runways and celebrities each and every season. A classic and wild look, animal prints are kept alive by showing up on current shapes and styles. If you fancy yourself a little animal in your life you're in luck. San Diego boutiques are all over this ever omnipresent trend.

For those looking to acquire a hot pair of heels, step into Stephanie's Shoes in the Bird Rock neighborhood of La Jolla where you can find some leopard print peep toe heels with red accents as well as some fabulous zebra kicks. In the mood for a pony print shift dress by Phillip Lim? JEP, also in La Jolla, has your back with a couple of frocks as well as a very fashion forward tank dress with a peacock print.

Take notes now, and head to La Jolla with your Style Passport.

My favorite animal item in San Diego, though, is at the elusive Frills Boutique in Hillcrest, off the usual beaten path of University Avenue. Located in the Ralph's shopping center, this gem of a store has a very hot piece of animal print, a bag big enough to be used as luggage, but small enough to tote around town. Frills also carries a to-die-for short sleeve leopard trench coat. This is the perfect statement piece to wear when the San Diego weather isn't at its best, and it's on sale.

Now, when wearing this leopard trench or anything with the animal print upon it, remind yourself not to wear any other article of clothing with the same animal print on it. There are those select fashionistas that can pull of mixing zebra with peacock to achieve the oh-so-hip mixing and matching patterns look. But I cannot think of one person that can pull of pairing leopard with leopard.
