My favorite animal item in San Diego, though, is at the elusive Frills Boutique in Hillcrest, off the usual beaten path of University Avenue. Frills also carries a to-die-for short sleeve leopard trench coat. This is the perfect statement piece to wear when the San Diego weather isn't at its best, and it's on sale.
Now, when wearing this leopard trench or anything with the animal print upon it, remind yourself not to wear any other article of clothing with the same animal print on it. There are those select fashionistas that can pull of mixing zebra with peacock to achieve the oh-so-hip mixing and matching patterns look. But I cannot think of one person that can pull of pairing leopard with leopard.
