Dale McCarthy of Invisible Children shares this year's bold vision: "Our goals for 2010 as an organization are primarily centered around advocacy of U.S. policy concerning Uganda as well as the improvement and support of the educational system in northern Uganda. We believe that there is much potential in the students of northern Uganda, and we want to give them the opportunities to become future leaders of their country. Our current spring tour has sent representatives all over the continental United States and parts of Canada to advocate for scholarships so that more students will have the opportunity and the resources to go to secondary school and university. Invisible Children has eleven Ugandan partner schools, which are paired with American high schools that put on fundraisers to fuel improvement projects on site at these schools in Uganda. Though the reach of Invisible Children has extended globally, the home office is right here in San Diego. We have received much support and enthusiastic participation from local individuals, often connected with high schools, colleges, and churches. It is in large part due to the support of these individuals that we have been able to have such a visible impact in rebuilding the war-torn region of northern Uganda."
