Neighbourhood, located in University Heights, is a men's and women's clothing boutique that opened in spring of 2006. Partners in style, Christine McLaughlin and Christopher Coggan, strive to redefine San Diego boutique shopping by focusing their attention on fashion-forward designers that were before unknown to the San Diego market.
They buy apparel and accessories from up and coming designers from around the world, hard to find brands and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces. When perusing through the racks, you can find a collection of old and new pieces from 1950's vintage dresses to high-end brands to new lines by local designers. Denim, feminine blouses, handbags, belts, shoes, and even vegan items can be found at Neighbourhood. For men, there are comfortable tees, hoodies, button-down shirts, and denim as well. There are always a bundle of sale items - so be sure to be on the look out for bargains.
As a reflection of the surrounding University Heights, Neighbourhood, is all about being friendly and supplying excellent customer service to create great shopping experiences. The owners, along with the sales associates, help customers find what works for their individual style and show them how to wear each piece. The boutique is modern with a twist; green plants adorned with petite ceramic owls, deer, and black bird silhouettes are painted above the racks. There is also a comfortable black leather couch with reading material for the tired customer, or a not-in-love-with-shopping boyfriend. Floor-to-ceiling curtains that serve as dressing rooms add to the unique style of this boutique's interior.
Local DJs spin every Friday and Saturday evening until 9pm, so be sure to stop by the next time you are in the Neighbourhood.
