Cute Celebrity Kids Hallowen Costumes

Posted On : 10/6/2011 by Kseniya Bublikova

With October well under way and fall weather upon us, Halloween is at the forefront of everyone’s mind. Most everybody wants a costume that is not only potentially scary, but also trendy and hip. For young moms, the dilemma often comes two-fold, since they want both a unique costume for themselves and a fun costume for the little ones.

Often, we turn to celebrities for inspiration on what the latest and greatest trends are, and Halloween costumes are no different. Nowadays, outfits worn by celebrity kids are just as coveted as what their mom and dad are wearing (think Zuma and Suri). So it’s no big surprise that when it comes to costumes, many are looking at the celeb youngsters for insight.

Discover the top ten Halloween costumes for kids, inspired by the famous and adorable tots of Tinseltown.

Tinkerbell: Every little girl dreams of being Tinkerbell at some time in her childhood, and Nicole Richie made that dream come true for Harlow one Halloween. This year, you can do the same for your little girl. With the purchase of a green tutu and wand, this dream easily transforms into reality. This is a great costume idea for the girly-girls out there, since they won’t need to hold back while piling on glitter and fun accessories. (pictured above)

Ladybug: This cheeky idea was presented to us by two famous children, style icon-in-the-making Suri Cruise and adorable Knox Jolie-Pitt. Not only cute, this costume is also quite easy to prepare.  All that is necessary for the transformation are a pair of polka-dot pants or top, and (of course) some store bought wings. Then, let your young one add whatever whimsical accessories meet their fancy.  As Knox proved, this costume isn’t just for little ladies but completely unisex! (pictured left)

Captain America: This fun costume idea was presented to us by none other than Zuma Rossdale himself. In his unique red, blue and white ensemble, Zuma was not only patriotic, but also quite charming. Plus, this idea could make for a fun family get-up of all Marvel characters (also see Wolverine below). You can choose to either buy the specially-made costume (as Gwen and Gavin did) or make your own.  You will need a blue shirt and pants, red gloves and boots, and some nationalistic touches.

Dinosaurs: The Rossdale boys are true trend-setters, so it comes as no surprise that Zuma appears twice in our round-up, this time for him and his brother’s dino attire. Most young boys are fascinated with the idea of dinosaurs, and will jump at the opportunity to dress up as one. This idea is made even cuter when there are several siblings in on the fun, as there are many types of dinosaurs and a costume for each of them. This one is most likely to work best when bought in store, unless you’re of the particularly crafty mom variety.

Disney Princess: Of course, no kiddie costume compilation is complete without  a Disney Princess. After all, what little girl doesn’t fantasize about appearing as the lead character in a Disney movie? The good news about this costume is that there are tons of options to purchase at almost every Halloween store. From Cinderella and Belle to Mulan and Jasmine, there is a perfect fit for every young maiden. Honor Marie, Jessica Alba’s daughter, shows us how it’s done in her gorgeous purple get-up.

Alice in Wonderland:  Alice in Wonderland is an amazing tale, and a perfect costume if your little daughter happens to have blond hair. The fun part is the potential for a matching parent costume. Whether you choose to dress up as the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat or Queen of Hearts, your outfit is sure to be a good match to your little ones. Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter, Apple, demonstrate the combination of Alice and the infamous White Rabbit.

Skeletons: Christina Aguilera and her son Max kicked up the scary factor one year with a matching skeleton ensemble. This is a fun outfit for both the parents and the children and can be either made or strore-bought. To make at home, just gather up some black clothes and buy some white or glow in the dark paint/markers from the crafts store. After that, draw in the bones! This is one outfit dad might be happy to don as well.

Rocky Horror Show: If your young one has a flair for all things dramatic, this will be a very fun costume to put together. Kate Beckinsale’s little star Lily debuted an outstanding outfit as a character from the Rocky Horror Show. The Rocky Horror Show has enough characters in it for the entire family (Frank, Janet, Brad, Magenta, Rocky, etc), so pick out your favorite one and make it come alive!

Wolverine: Often, it makes for a striking effect when the parent and child dress up in different versions of the same costume. Dean Mc Dermott and Liam demonstrate that point as an amazing Wolverine duo. If the dad is the one planning on taking the kids trick-or-treating, then this makes for an excellent costume idea. For the most realistic expression, a store bought Wolverine costume is the way to go. Note that Wolverine costumes would also go well if another child wanted to be Captain America as seen above.

Dalmatian: This is perhaps the easiest to make of all the children’s costumes listed so far. All that you need is a white outfit and some dog ears (easily bought at any Halloween store). After that, simply mark up desired spots on the outfit with a marker. Rowan Henchy, daughter of Brooke Shields wore this great costume one year and looked remarkable. As an added bonus, moms can always choose to contribute to the feel with a Cruella De Vil addition!
