Unlike the economy, San Diego's weather changes very little throughout the seasons. While other cities experience downpours and snow, San Diegans embrace a touch of fog and a bit of evening chill. Despite temperature not-so-lows, we must be prepared for the transition into cold weather style.

Barneys Co-op
Brand new to Fashion Valley, Barneys Co-op is the wayward sister store of Barneys New York, and offers hip and trendy fall fashion for him and her. Co-op chicks will see brutal jewelry and rare metal accessories, purples and plaids, tough leather, bohemian comfort, and flirty party frocks with a dash of after-dark excitement. (pictured)
Let's Go Clothing
Fall isn't fall without a trench, but what better way to wear it then cropped. Let's Go has the local version of the classic look in bold colors with pea coats to boot. You can also find the popular sweater dress for a casual look and a fall appropriate cocktail garb for the dressy. I recommend the silver number in the window. There are also awesome blazers and killer boots available for the men.
Kingdom Boutique
This boutique always has the best of the season. Stop into this Hillcrest shop to pick up this fall's celebrity it-look ingredients.
Studio 12.20
With a few locations around San Diego, including La Jolla, Studio 12.20 is a fabulous spot for reasonable priced everything fall. From evergreen handbags, cropped pea coats and sweater dresses to light wash denim and weightless scarves appropriate for San Diego's mild temps, this might be a one-stop shop.
Gambucci
The always fashion-forward boutique on Girard has supermodel looks at super model prices. Gambucci is selling the untraceable look that every stylish local craves for fall, including futuristic thigh length coats in cashmere, leather and goat hair as well as white vinyl.
Encore
To add a touch of the high end to your fall wardrobe at a shrunken (but still large) price, Encore is the place. This high-end consignment store has been selling top quality recycled designer duds to men and women for years. You can find this season's runway handbags, furs, sweaters, coats and numerous high style blazers including my favorite Etro Milano's black and white mixed pattern paisley jacket.
Capricorn Boutique
At this Bird Rock boutique, men can find matte black jackets while women can snatch up fall's comfy sweaters and long sleeves.
LF
Fall fashion heaven is LF. Flat riding boots in mustard, knit caps to keep your noggin warm and your style quotient high, simple but fashionable sweaters, ankle boots, elaborate Kate Moss inspired fur vests and '80s denim are just a few items on the LF menu.
Gracie Boutique
Gracie is a high-end downtown shop offering a soft thigh length embroidered jacket for a truly unique look, crackled leather boots, fabulous hooded coats and sweaters, the always fabulous pageboy cap, or even an umbre shawl coat. Gracie also has local classics still available, like open toe platforms and tank tops.
Amore Boutique
Another La Jolla boutique, Amore has the elaborate fur collared cardigans that only the most fabulous can pull off. My favorite must be the indigo coatdress with the zip up cowl neck presented by the entrance. This frock is worth every penny and will last for years.
