First Annual San Diego Fashion Week

Published : 1/10/2008 by Michelle Guerin

You've heard of New York Fashion Week and Miami Fashion Week - high-profile designers gather beneath the glow of chic florescence to unveil new lines to awe inspired guests standing shoulder to shoulder with breath that is baited.

Head to toe, sunrise to sunrise, high-fashion designers showcase new looks in the limelight. A motley crew of aspiring stylists, fashion journalists and the glamorous who's who of each city come together in uninhibited appreciation of fashion - past and present, street and stage, inspiration and creation.

While New York, Miami, Paris, and select fashion-centric cities across the world continually attract San Diego's couture aficionados, San Diego had maintained a low profile and laid-back attitude. However, with undoubted style and an emerging boutique array, San Diego slowly began to emerge from Miami's stage wings and New York's dressing room in past years. With world-class restaurants, clubs, hotels, and boutique shops - there's no reason San Diego can't step up to speed with fashionable sister cities and declare a new Fashion Week.

San Diego, push your faithful flip-flops to the side and make way for your first (or eighth?) pair of Manolo Blahniks. DiscoverSD.com proudly announces the first-ever San Diego Fashion Week, hosted by your lovely local fashion guru Allison Andrews of APA Fashion Consulting. San Diego will graduate from casual to runway October, 2008 with the highly-anticipated San Diego Fashion Week, featuring the world's top designers, San Diego's hautest boutiques and San Diego's top clubs and hotels.

San Diego is not up and coming, San Diego is not on the rise; San Diego has arrived. 2008 marks the advent of the new San Diego - the nightlife and fashion capital of Southern California. San Diego Fashion Week is about to change the face (and wardrobe) of our modest coastal town.

Fashion Week Updates

FWSD has been rescheduled for October 2-5, 2008 - get all the updated event details here.

Cancelled - rescheduled - what kind of joke is this?

I'm sorry, but finally San Diego had the opportunity to show the rest of the world that we are more than flip flops and board shorts. And here we are...back to board shorts and flip flops. Even if the fashion is outrageous and top-notch, it will be lost in the shoddy preparations. How could the organizers fall so short of making this a truly memorable event? It's only four days and there are no high-profile sponsors, media partners or cool venues!!!!! Where's the originality? Where is the show? And what's up with canceling an event only to call ticket holders a few weeks later that all is back on. This is a sham and embarrassing to San Diego. hokey hokey hokey.

Allison Andrews is a Thief

Not only was it a ghastly show, but Allison Andrews is lower than a common thief! She owes all or most of her exhibitors, vendors and customers tens of thousands of dollars and refuses to acknowledge it, let alone return fees and deposits or pay her bills. The woman is simply toxic! This spoiled, sniveling little girl has no morals or ethics and should be run right out of town. Many, many honest, hard-working local small businesses have been damaged by this little twit's infantile behaviour. It's repugnant. She should be spanked, and spanked hard. Listening Mummy and Daddy? Allison, be gone!
