L.A. Fairchild and Denim Bar: North County Boutique Duo

Laura and Julie Fairchild brought a new level of style and sophistication to San Diego in October of 2004 with the opening of their Cardiff boutique, L.A. Fairchild (short for Laura Ann Fairchild).

Their mission was to blend SoHo sass with Southern California style, catering to trendsetting mavens about town. With brands such as Nieves Lavi, Jeffrey Campbell shoes, and Goldenbleu handbags, this San Diego boutique is devoted to anything and everything femme fatale.

With the desire to create an atmosphere as familiar and comfortable as one's very own closet, the sister team designed the boutique with shabby chic décor and overstuffed furniture, not to mention racks of the best designer fashion covering the shop. The 1,200 square foot boutique began with women's clothing, shoes, accessories, and a small section devoted to men. For the first time, North County San Diego could be a part of the Los Angeles culture without having to take the two-hour drive.

Exactly one year after the launch, and directly adjacent to L.A. Fairchild, Laura opened her Denim Bar, San Diego's first "denim concept" boutique featuring over thirty lines and 150 styles of designer men and women's denim. The brands include, but are not limited to, Joe's Jeans, Chip and Pepper, Rock & Republic, True Religion as well as William Rast.

Designed with the male demographic in mind, the interior is designed to make the "shopping challenged" gender feel comfortable. Customers can sit comfortably on the stools at the bar, enjoy fresh beer from the kegorator and place an order with the bartenders, who assist in finding the perfect pair of jeans for each and every body type. Denim Bar is complete with dim lighting, a dartboard, pool table, and a plasma television screen equipped with surround sounds, HDTV sports channels, and a Sony Playstation.

The L.A. Fairchild and Denim Bar duo has quickly become North County's one-stop shopping destination for both men and women.
