While San Diego's Little Italy may be known for its delicious Italian food and quaint cafes, it is also increasingly becoming a major stop for fashion-forward boutiques. Niche Boutique, an upscale San Diego shop offering the latest styles for men, women and children, is no exception to this new trend.
What was once an upscale designer shoe boutique, selling designer kicks by Marc Jacobs and BCBG, has now transformed into an all-inclusive shop, gaining national exposure in fashion magazines. Recently, the mother/daughter team of Darlene Talge and Liz Townsend took over operation and expanded the store to twice its original size. In this expansion, they also added Niche Child located in the in the back room, stocked with trendy adorable clothing and keepsake toys.
Located in the Cottage Shops on Fir Street, this charming boutique merchandises their selection in little clusters of designer duds around the store. Delivering styles of the season, Niche carries hoodies, leather jackets, sweet undergarments as well as accessories including heels, handbags and jewelry. The accessories carried at this boutique are the type you plan you outfit around, not what you just throw on after you're dressed. The brands include Development, Porridge, Lure as well as Kites (one of the only stores in San Diego to sell this line). This line includes girlie dresses created by local designer Carla Manuel.
When visiting Niche Boutique in Little Italy, you can be sure to feel comfortable and browse around for as long as you want in the relaxed atmosphere. The owners, as well as the sales people, care about the customers and want to ensure that they have an excellent shopping experience.
