Voyeur is the newest night club to hit downtown San Diego, bringing with it a fresh and edgy look at music, nightlife, and the way the scene affects style.

In June we showed you how Voyeur was set to haunt Gaslamp with goth elegance (read here), and we’ve since become obsessed with the electric LED wall, its embedded go-go girls and the range of electro-industrial-rock DJs and artists who have spun high-energy parties all summer long. If you’ve yet to experience the loaded gun that is Voyeur, you’re missing out. If you’ve never missed a show, you still may not know the man behind the music.

Brandon Farley, or just Farley as he’s commonly known, now prefers suspenders to JNCO’s, hates tattoos – except for his full body suit, is inspired by Jack White’s true rock star nature, and thinks Gwen Stefani would fit right in with the risk-taking music-oriented crowd that crams onto the Voyeur dance floor. He’s brief with words and big on style. But mostly we love Farley because his nightlife vision is elevating Gaslamp fashion sense.

Get to know Farley in this week’s Local Style Spotlight.

DiscoverSD: What do you do in San Diego?

Farley: I am the Director of events and VIP host at Voyeur Night Club.

DSD: Outside of work, where can we find you in San Diego?

F: Neighborhood, El Camino, Market Del Mar, or riding my Harley with the guys from Industry Cycles.

DSD: In just 3 words, describe your sense of style.

F: The Cat’s Meow (haha)

DSD: Where do you shop in San Diego?

F: If I am getting presents for the lady friends I shop at Haven Boutique. For shoes I usually go to Blends. I just picked up a really nice helmet for my bike at 5 & A Dime. Other than that, thrift stores and Ebay.

DSD: Who is your celebrity style icon?

F: Jack White – that guy is just a true rock star, and you don’t see that too much these days.

DSD: What female celebrity has the hottest sense of style?

F: Gwen Stefani, she’s a risk-taker.

DSD: What is one fashion trend you will never, under any circumstances, support?

F: Tattoos … just not my style. (fyi I have a full body suit)

DSD: What was the worst style era for you?

F: In middle school all the kids wore JNCO’s – yikes those pants were atrocious.

DSD: In just 3 words, describe Voyeur style.

F: Very music oriented.

DSD: Voyeur is one of the newest clubs in San Diego, bringing something entirely new and unique to the nightlife scene. Are you affecting downtown style?

F: 100 % of people come here to have fun and for great music, I think that great music and style go and hand.
