Insiders know KIN Lounge just reopened for a new season at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, which means it’s time to go shopping for that perfect rooftop summer ensemble. Go figures the lady responsible for KIN success is also the most stylish local in the KIN scene.
Meet Rachael Giannecchini – the sky high heels strutting woman in charge of your lifestyle needs at the Hyatt. Rachael doesn’t leave home without her carry-all Gucci handbag, shops at BCBG but ensures there are great finds at Forever 21 if you look, and refuses to let Nicole Riche’s style transformation fly under the radar. Get to know Rachael in this week’s Local Style Spotlight.
DiscoverSD: Can you tell us about your involvement in the San Diego scene?
Rachael: My title is Marketing Manager. I work with our Director of Marketing to manage and facilitate all marketing for the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego. I also facilitate all internal projects for the hotel, 8 - F&B outlets, spa and any other item that speaks to the hotel’s image or message - consisting of and not limited to all print and digital - within the hotel or externally.
Currently, my passion project is the marketing plan and implementation of KIN Lounge – just opened on May 1.
DSD: Outside of work, where can we find you in San Diego?
R: The Gaslamp is my playground. I love that you can go in different directions, depending on your mood. For a casual night: Nicky Rottens, The Fleetwood and Basic are some of my favorites. For a big night out I love Confidential, The Ivy and looking forward to the reopening of Side Bar.
I am quite the foodie. Some of my favorites are Ruth’s Chris, The Marble Room, Laurel, Zenbu, Kitchen 1540, Alexander’s on 30th, Vagabond, Sally’s Seafood on the Water, Lei Lounge, Sushi Ono and La Puerta.
DSD: In three words, describe your personal fashion style.
R: Classic, rock ‘n’ roll, ‘70s glamour.
DSD: Who is your celebrity fashion icon?
R: I really love Rachel Zoe. I think she taps into the heart of many elements that I gravitate towards in fashion: ‘70s glamour, great handbags, statement fashion jewelry, all with that rock star quality. Rachel Zoe took Nicole Richie from trashy club kid to fashion icon in her own right - pretty amazing transformation!
DSD: A local nightlife expert, what is your go-to outfit for a night out in the Gaslamp?
R: Sky high heels, a great dress (I have a love affair with dresses) and a large envelope clutch.
DSD: Also a local hospitality and spa expert, what is your go-to outfit for a casual day of relaxation?
R:Basic jeans in a great wash, off the shoulder tee (think flash dance), Havana flip flops, big pair of sunglasses (at the moment I’m very fond of my Yves Saint Laurent Muse shades) and a carry-all Gucci handbag.
DSD: Where do you shop in San Diego?
R: BCBG, Barney’s Co-Op, Nordstrom, Forever 21 (if you look, you can find great pieces), Flashbacks and Urban Outfitters. For home: Mixture and The Cathedral.
