Look Supermodel Chic at San Diego's Best Boutiques

Published : 4/7/2008 by Vanessa Valiente

The European supermodel has always had the upper hand when it comes to looking überchic and stylish. They have millions of dollars, legs for days and first access to high-end goodies.

Fortunately for San Diego shoppers, those elements are not pre-requisites to pulling off that very fashionable "I don't give a damn" look that Kate Moss, Agyness Devyn and Irina Lazareanu have perfected.

The key to the casual look is to layer, mix labels and add a little vintage something. In the spirit of Agyness Devyn, you can pair some Level 99 high-waisted jeans and a fedora hat from Lilly Grace in Pacific Beach with a horizontally striped tank top and gladiator sandals from JEP in La Jolla (pictured below). Top the outfit off with a previously owned scarf from Buffalo Exchange in Hillcrest.

If you want the ever-seductive Kate Moss attire, pick up a pair of dark wash denim shorty shorts from Capricorn Boutique in La Jolla and follow with a grey vintage tee from Lilly Grace. You must then get a vest from Express, a leather belt from Junc Boutique in South Park and finish with vintage cowboy boots form Flashbacks in Hillcrest.

Now, no supermodel is complete without the fitted blazer. You can purchase a fitted military jacket at The Fabulous Ray Boutique in Pacific Beach that you wear over a simple tank top available at Steve & Barry's in Horton Plaza. For the bottom half, you should pick up a pair of white skinny jeans from G-Star Raw in Gaslamp and then slip your feet into some black riding boots from Nordstrom.

The most important thing to remember when pulling this look off is, although the colors or patterns need not match, the outfit must fit perfectly; nothing can be baggy or saggy. This is the difference between looking chic and homeless. Happy shopping San Diego!
