Mimi & Red Boutique, located in North Park's urban fashion and design district, specializes in women's clothing and accessories and plans on carrying children's clothing in the near future.
The interior of the store is filled with fresh flowers and plants as well as feminine décor against dark wood fixtures that display jewelry and handbag designs. Racks of clothes line the store in a cozy, yet uncluttered fashion, creating an easy shopping experience for the customer. Beautiful art designed by local artists cover the walls of the store for an additional pop of color.
With brands and styles such as NU Collective, Rebecca Beeson, BB Dakota, RVCA, Betsey Johnson handbags, Blank Denim, and Fighting Eel, Mimi & Red distinctly distinguishes itself from all the other boutiques in San Diego. The merchandising of the shop is impeccable as trends are mixed with classic essentials. In other words, there is not only cute and affordable clothing, jewelry and handbags, but also designer jeans, fancy tops and beautiful dresses.
Owners, Rhondda and Michelle, tapped into the neighborhood culture of North Park, and supply great customer service by never trying to rush or persuade clients to purchase an item. Mimi & Red is even part of a charity event/fashion show, called Pay it Fourward, every third Sunday of the month with other local businesses. The other shops included are Mesh, Kate Ross, and Material. All participating boutiques donate 10% of all proceeds to various charities. Each month a new charity is chosen and guests can enjoy wine, snacks, and of course great shopping.
