Blended Industries Boutique & Wine Bar

Everyone knows a shopping spree is always more fun with a cocktail in hand. With a little buzz on, you have the confidence to try new fashion-forward trends, and you put must-have styles ahead of budget-conscious worries. I’m not saying it’s the smartest way to shop, but it’s definitely the most fun. Many San Diego boutiques are known to serve guests under-the-radar champagne flutes, but never before has there been a dual concept clothing store and wine bar in town. Leave it to reality TV personality Jesse Kovacs to bring this lifestyle brand to San Diego.

Reality TV personality and winemaker, Jesse Kovacs, a fan favorite from Jillian Harris’ season of “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor Pad,” has combined forces with his girlfriend Summer Albertsen to open a new clothing store and wine bar in one, called Blended Industries.

Summer is the owner of Summer Elizabeth clothing boutique in La Jolla, and is now expanding her fashion industry expertise with the launch of Blended Industries, which is also located in La Jolla. The boutique carries upscale brands for men and women, and emphasizes the shopping experience. Summer explains, "Our store is going to reflect our personalities, fun and unpretentious. We want people to walk away saying they've never seen a place or concept like this." While Summer is in charge of apparel, Jesse will seduce clientele from behind the bar.

Following his reality TV success, Jesse Kovacs launched a wine label with his brother Jacob. The Kovacs Brothers Wine business is based in Carmel Valley, and they recently explained their wine story and philosophy in a debut book entitled “The Young and The Thirsty: 25 California Wines for the New School Drinker” – a helpful guide for the novice drinker. A relaxed approach to the winemaking industry, Jesse encourages likeminded people to have fun while discovering new emerging wine labels from smaller vintners. Jesse explains, “We are going to carry some really great up and coming wine labels, I wanted to support the smaller production guys like myself. All the wines we will carry are boutique wines with a story behind them. Many of the winemakers are actually friends of mine.”

Now open, Blended Industries is a place for upscale shopping, laidback wine tasting, and reality TV star sightings. The best part? Blended Industries is open late, from noon to 8pm Monday through Thursday and Sundays; and from noon to midnight Fridays and Saturdays.
