Pink Zone: San Diego's Source for Affordable Fashion

Published : 2/18/2008 by Jenny Herman

Some girls are a little reluctant to check out the land of "disposable clothes," but San Diego's Pink Zone is a little different than most would expect.

With locations in La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Gaslamp, this San Diego boutique is a practical and stylish shop in the midst of all the ultra chic and overpriced boutiques found in these shopping areas.

Nothing feels worse than buying trendy clothing for way too much money, only to find the trend is over before you can even pay off your credit card bill. Thankfully, comparable to mall shops like Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe, Pink Zone carries a huge selection of merchandise from tees and tanks to denim and dresses to shoes and purses and even lingerie, and always for less.

Pink Zone is perfect when you have the impulsive urge to buy something new for a night on the town, to boost your confidence, or when you are just tired of every single item in your closet. With tops and dresses ranging from $15 - $30, you never need to worry about breaking the bank. But, be careful not to purchase all eight dresses - as the bill can add up quick.

A sea of colors greets each boutique guest. Every item and style spans the rainbow in choices, excess merchandise drapes from the walls and lines every nook and cranny of the high-energy shop. Pink Zone offers a varied selection of tees and tanks that are perfect for layering, shoes that appear much more expensive than they actually are, as well as a surprisingly large selection of denim including brands such as Miss Me and Flying Monkey.

Yes, Pink Zone is always a little unorganized, but with the amount of clothing and accessories they carry, it is to be expected. You have to dig around a little and spend some time, but you are guaranteed will leave satisfied with new trendy affordable finds bursting out of your pink shopping bag. Even if these new buys only last for the season, at this price - it's worth it.

Warning: It's always best to be caffeinated or freshly fed when shopping at Pink Zone, as the colors and crazed shoppers can be extremely draining.
