Rebecca Norman Boutique

Published : 11/28/2007 by Jenny Herman

First off, we need some background information on the infamous, local jewelry designer, Rebecca Norman. Rebbeca grew up in Taiwan, Australia where she initially developed an interest in jewelry.

When she relocated to the United States in 1985, Rebecca earned a degree in jewelry fabrication and goldsmithing. Since then, her innovative, limited-edition jewelry has been sold in such high-profile retailers as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, and Fred Segal.

With such popularity, Rebecca decided to open her own boutique in June 2005 in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach: Rebecca Norman Boutique. Her boutique showcases the complete Rebecca Norman collection including one-of-a-kind pieces as well as works of other designers. Not only is the jewelry designed to reflect her vision for modern detailing and classic simplicity, her store also reflects her vision. Even the floor is a unique mosaic design with semiprecious white quartz, lepidolite, and sunstone.

The pieces range from hammered bangles to hoop earrings, chain necklaces, and cuff bracelets all made from classic sterling silver and 18 karat gold vermeil. For added originality and life, Rebecca infuses her jewelry designs with natural materials and precious gemstones such as shell, bone, rubies, and turquoise.

Although she is known for these specific styles, Rebecca also designs men's jewelry as well as the newly launched leather accessories line, which includes hand-stitched leather clutches, wallets, and belts. Each piece is handmade featuring natural leathers that vary in color and texture, one of a kind gemstones and a range of styles and sizes that are interchangeable as clutches or wallets.

No matter which way you slice it, Rebecca Norman's jewelry and leather designs offer a modern spirit mixed with an organic, chic look.
