Ten Last Minute Holiday Gift Ideas for Her at Pink Lagoon

Posted On : 12/8/2009 by Jenny Livits

Holiday shopping, while often fun, can be very stressful when you can’t find that perfect gift for your nearest and dearest.

When shopping, add a personal touch to your gift by buying items similar to those favorite things in your own home or closet – your sister, aunt or best friend is sure to love them just as much as you, and there's nothing better than giving a gift you'd love to have yourself. Be sure to keep in mind their personal style too – this ensures you’re getting a gift they’ll love for years to come.

Here are my 10 favorite holiday gifts from Pink Lagoon for the loved ones on your list:

Eco-friendly gifts are always timeless and chic. Sea Bags Totes are made from recycled sails and come in a variety of sizes – ideal for carrying everything from your everyday necessities to beach essentials to groceries. Paddywax makes soy-based candles that are packaged in adorable tins made of bio-degradable products – plus the candle smells amazing and is just $20.

An infinity scarf is a really universal gift that is sure to be a hit at $40. They are cozy and comfortable and great for the winter months. Be sure to keep in mind the colors that would compliment skin tone and hair color when choosing a color. Neutrals are always safe and classic but a pop of color really makes a stand-out gift.

My personal favorites for the holidays are gifts that give back. They are a great way to celebrate your ladies while benefiting charity. Local jewelry designer Hammered created darling sterling silver disc bracelets that read HOPE on a purple thread ($40, with $10 of the proceeds donated to charity), while Morgan Jean created a stunning bracelet with four floating pearls on a gold-filled chain ($100, with $20 of the proceeds donated to charity). Both gifts benefit the Four Pearls of the Beckstrand Cancer Foundation.

Giving the gift of comfort is always a nice gesture. Pajamas and loungewear are just right when you want to be warm and cozy during the holidays – and they’re loved by everyone from your little sister to your grandmother.

Statement jewelry like a chunky cocktail ring, cuff or statement necklace is the perfect way to dress up a simple outfit like jeans and a white tee or enhance your look for a holiday party or night on the town. Turquoise chandelier earrings are a stunning look for the holidays and transition well to other seasons – our favorite is by Double Happiness, another local jewelry designer we love.

Personalized gifts like a necklace featuring your loved one’s initial are a thoughtful and personal touch. Our 14 karat gold (in yellow or white gold on 16” or 18” chain) necklace with pavé diamond initial cursive pendant is both stunning and oh so special at $250.

Fragrances always make luxurious holiday gifts that can be used all year long. A favorite at Pink Lagoon is the variety of Bond No. 9 perfumes we carry – there’s a scent everyone will love, and they come in the most fabulous bottles that glamorize any vanity.

A long strand of pearls is something every girl should have in her closet – they truly go with anything and dress up even the simplest of outfits. Our personal favorite is by Morgan Jean for $110 and comes in grey, light pink and a classic white. This is also a versatile piece as it can be wrapped around your wrist and worn as a bracelet too. Who wouldn't like two gifts in one?

If you are feeling daring, putting together an entire outfit as a gift. We always love to help when it comes to this special gift. If you know the person’s style well, it’s so fun to take on that person’s style for a day and add a special outfit to their closet.

Another fave local jewelry designer we can’t live without is Julez Bryant. She makes fabulous yellow, white and rose gold charm necklaces – and you can layer the charms as well as the different golds of the actual necklaces, which looks so chic. They make a very special gift because you can showcase the recipient’s personality in the charm selection. For example, get a horse shoe charm for an equestrienne, or for a special loved one give a key with a heart charm.

My favorite stocking stuffers include these budget-friendly picks:

Candles in delicious scents make an ideal gift or stocking stuffer and can be found at a wide range of prices, starting at $12. Gifting a candle in your favorite scent is a great way to share a little piece of yourself and adds a personal touch. Our smallest candles are essential for cozying up your hotel room for the frequent traveler.

MOR Cosmetics soaps and lip glosses come in the most stunning packaging and smell divine – they’re a special gift everyone is sure to love.

Hanky Panky panties are every girl’s necessity and make the perfect stocking stuffer for all the ladies on your list with their small rolled packaging!

Peace Scarves transcend your inner hippie and are just a fun pop of style for a casual fun look.

Unique t-shirts make fantastic gifts for the low-key San Diego lifestyle. 3-2 Design Tees have fun little sayings and are really comfy.

Julez by Julez Bryant, the lower price point line from local jewelry designer Julez Bryant, makes lovely blackened sterling silver baby charm necklaces that are budget-friendly at $45.
