The Back Room, the adult version addition to the extremely popular Del Mar Kids Boutique, opened in the summer of 2004.

Co-owned by sisters Staci and Amy Wax, these two San Diego boutiques have become favorite destinations for locals and San Diego visitors both. Staci (mother of three) was tired of the limited selection of quality children's apparel and wanted to help other fashion-conscious mothers find the same designer clothing for their little ones. With the help of her sister Amy, the twosome started Del Mar Kids in 2000.

With unparalleled success, they decided to expand the store to include adult designer apparel in "The Back Room." This trendy, yet approachable space features denim dangling from the racks and shelves stuffed with clothing decorating the bright pink and black walls.

The relaxed atmosphere offers a personalized shopping environment that allows customers to unwind and enjoy their shopping experience without the hassle of department store crowds. Moms can shop guilt-free for themselves while their kids have fun in the play space designed just for them with toys and books to keep them occupied.

Quickly becoming a one-stop-shop for not only mothers and their kids, but for celebrities and locals alike, The Back Room showcases the latest in Hollywood trends. The designer apparel ranges from Ella Moss, Generra, Splendid, Joie, Velvet and C&C California to Rock & Republic, BCBG, Vince, T-Bags, Gold Sign and Juicy couture, accessories, cashmere, terry and velour.
