Move your body and your heart will follow….Do one thing a day that scares you….Breathe deeply and appreciate the moment – living in the moment could be the meaning of life. – lululemon Manifesto
In today’s day and age, we rarely take time to stop and take a breather. We have demanding work schedules, children to take to and from school and soccer practices, pets to walk, feed and give love to, and party-filled social lives to maintain…let’s face it, life can be pretty stressful. Fortunately, an exciting and innovative culture is on the rise that shows us how easy it really is to take a step back so you can nourish your mind, body and soul.
After 20 years in the surf, skate and snowboard industry, Lululemon founder Chip Wilson dropped in on his first yoga class in Vancouver and was blown away by the intensity of the workout. The post-yoga glow was unlike anything he had experienced during his surfing and snowboarding days and it suddenly became clear to him that yoga was a force to be reckoned with.
At that time, cotton clothing was being used for sweaty, stretchy power yoga and seemed completely inappropriate to Chip, whose passion lay in technical athletic fabrics. Thus, the dynamic visionary set out to create the components that enabled people to live longer, healthier and happier lives.
Lululemon’s yoga-inspired athletic apparel is dedicated to keeping people active and stress-free so that in turn, the world will become a much better place to live in. Whether you’re a runner or dancer, a cyclist or yogi master, each garment is designed to maximize performance and make your workout effective and functional as possible.
From loose-fitting dance studio pants and lightweight running skirts for women, to 4-way stretch yoga pants and chafe-resistant, antistatic gold shirts for men, the products and styles are quite literally endless.
Even though the lululemon was fashioned around the belief that quality clothing can improve your quality of exercise, at the core of the company lies a passion for community engagement. From the unique ambassador program and monthly traveling photo challenges to weekly, complimentary yoga classes offered at your local store, lululemon presents you with the tools to help you achieve your own personal success.
With over 100 locations in Australia, Canada and the US, lululemon has steadily been working to elevate the world from mediocrity to greatness.
